Shermanbury lies on the A281 between Cowfold and Henfield.
Its church, St Giles, is tucked away in extensive parkland.
The walls of the church are medieval, but the building was enlarged and extensively restored in 1710 and again in 1885. the font is said to be 13th century.
The area is 500 hectares with a population of 425.
